What’s changing for Ethiopian businesses?
Under Directive 1142/2018 E.C., the Ministry of Revenues is introducing electronic invoicing. Each sale is registered with the Ministry’s system, and the receipt carries a unique number and a QR code that anyone can scan to check it.
- Your sale
- Ministry of Revenues
- Receipt with QR
- Each invoice is registered with the Ministry at the moment of sale.
- Each receipt gets an official number and a QR code.
- Only certified systems can do this registration.
Is my business affected?
The Ministry of Revenues is rolling out electronic invoicing in phases and has not yet published the full schedule. Large and VAT-registered taxpayers are expected to be among the first. Answer three questions and we’ll tell you what this likely means for you, and alert you when your phase is announced.
Question 1 of 3
